Commercial Storm/Roofing Claims

Do Not Accept Your Insurance Carrier's Underpayment or Wrongful Denial of Your Commercial Property Roof or Storm Damage Claim

Roofing and storm claims are among the most common insurance claims filed in Texas. Storms can cause extensive and costly damage to your property negatively affecting your business. A damaged roof might allow water to penetrate into the property resulting in damage to inventory and contents. Damage may put your business operations on hold. Insurance carriers understand this but do not always fully and properly investigate claims and pay for all damage.

At the Law Offices of Robert N. Grisham II, we are dedicated to holding insurance companies accountable for the promises made in their insurance policies. Your ability to move forward with your business and life matters more than the bottom line of any company. Contact us to discuss your important legal rights with an attorney.

Storm Claim Underpayment or Denial

There are many different insurance policies issued by numerous insurance carriers in Texas. You may have a special insurance policy that provides coverage for certain types of damage. Some commercial policies provide coverage for roof damage to apartments, condominiums and commercial structures caused by storms, collection of water on the roof, collapse of the roof and other causes. We are happy to review your policy and discuss your options. If you believe your claim was underpaid or wrongfully denied, then contact us for a free consultation.

Network of Reliable Consultants

Over the years, we have built a vast pool of qualified, reliable consultants to assist with the investigation of a potential case. These include roofers, contractors and engineers, among other consultants. When needed, they can perform inspections to determine the extent of damage and accurately calculate the damage related to the insurance claim.

We use the information gained from our investigation to assist with negotiations with the insurance company. In the event we are unable to secure a full and fair resolution, we will not hesitate to file suit against your insurance carrier. No matter the situation, we are committed to securing justice for you.

Business Income Coverage

When a loss damages your property and adversely affects your business operations, Business Income Coverage may be the only thing that keeps your business alive. Business Income Coverage is intended to compensate the business owner for income lost during the period of repair of the property. Generally, it begins when the direct physical damage occurs and ends on the earlier of the date that the damaged property should be repaired, rebuilt or replaced. Typically, Business Income Coverage pays for the net income that would have been earned, operating expenses, including payroll, and loss of rents incurred during the period of restoration because of suspension of operations due to a covered loss. The standard policy limits the period of restoration to 30 days; this period can typically be extended to 360 days by an endorsement to the policy.

We assist our clients with presentation of a Business Income Coverage claim, including advice regarding compiling documentation supporting the claim. This may require the assistance of qualified consultants or experts to determine the loss.
